Hello and Welcome!

I’m Sarah Davis the author of “do it for you” blog. I was raised in the small coastal town of Oriental.  Oriental is in the eastern part of North Carolina and is known for its great boating! As a kid, I could be found roaming the town on my bicycle barefoot in my bathing suit and my only rule was to be home when the street lights came on. It was a wonderful place to grow up as a kid and the place I choose to call home today.

Most people in town know me today as the sheriff’s wife, Beau and Ammo’s mom or the girl who runs around town all the time. I am married to the sheriff who thank goodness shared my love for the small town of Oriental, so after he was elected we decided to build our home there. I am the proud dog mom of two Labrador retrievers, one black (Beau) and one Chocolate (Ammo). Beau and Ammo are famous in Oriental for their puddle stomping, plunges at the local beach and occasional ice-cream outings with their grandmother. I have not always loved running but began my journey in Oriental. I literally started by running to one stop sign and walking to the next until I could make it all the way around town without having to walk. Today I still run this same lap almost every day and it never gets old.

When I am not spending time in town I can usually be found cruising the creeks on our boat. Sometimes my husband and I cruise to dinner or just go out to watch the sunset. Other times I take Beau and Ammo for a ride and to catch some fresh air. And then there are times that I cruise with my girlfriends where I can be found having a dance party on the bow of the boat or the first to jump off the bow screaming “CANNONBALL”!

In the fall, you may find me at a football game or in front of the television yelling “Off Sides” or “Get em”! That is just part of being raised by a coach. I love sports and yes, my dad made sure I understood the game of football, because for some reason he felt that was important for a girl to know too.

I love fresh cut flowers and always have a vase on display right next to the chocolate dish on my kitchen island. These two items are by far a couple of the finer things in life. If you come to visit, you will often find me standing at the kitchen island working on something, but rarely will you ever find me sitting down or relaxing, I will admit I am not good at either. If you twist my arm I might join you on my front porch to relax in the rocking chairs and sip on a refreshing cocktail. But for the most part I am always bouncing around working on a project or my to-do list.

Most of all I love to find ways to improve and motivate myself to do better and achieve bigger. When I fall I enjoy the process of getting back up. I am constantly working hard to build a better me, inside and out. Which has led me to this blog. I hope that each of you reading my blog can take something away from my experiences and use it to build a better you. DO IT FOR YOU!

  1. Sarah, have enjoyed reading your blog. This is an unusual comment from me because I have never read a blog, or anything on Twitter. Comes with the age and generation I grew up with I suspect. Love your honest and positive outlook on things. I hope your Dad is able to read your postings, as it would reinforce how proud I know he is of you. Hope you and family are well, and hope to get down to see your Dad again very soon.
